The popular Starrett ProSite® Miter Saw Protractor utilizes direct reading miter scales to take error-prone calculations out of the process of miter cuts in woodworking projects.
This easy-to-use tool has two scales. The red scale and arrow show the angle for a miter joint, while the black arrows and scale provide the angle to fit a single work piece to an angle.
Simply set your saw to the angle that you read. Upside down or backwards, the reading is always correct.
Creating a perfect miter is a simple, three step process:
1) Measure the angle
2) Set the saw to the angle that the Red Arrow points to on the Red Scale
3) Cut the pieces with the left and right angle, respectively
This innovative tool saves time and reduces waste. It's ideal for carpenters, plumbers and all building trades as well as invaluable for home use. We recently received the following email from one happy user:
I just wanted to thank you for this great tool! I pondered for about two weeks putting up chair rail in our living room which includes a bay with three windows. The protractor saved me a ton of time figuring angles and wasting material experimenting with miter cuts. It also made the presumed 45 degree inside corner cuts much more accurate so I didn't have to use a coping saw for that "professional" look.
The protractor should be in every home handyman or professional's toolbox. This tool made my limited interest in woodworking much more enjoyable and I'm looking forward to other woodworking projects.
Again, thank you!
The 505 has been available for about four years and has proven to be very popular. In fact, for several months it was the best selling tool on Amazon.com.
